Airship Syndicate’s Wayfinder has finally launched the beta for player-created mods

Well now, here’s some good news I wasn’t expecting this week. Y’all remember Wayfinder, the Airship Syndicate multiplayer RPG inspired by MMOs that’s struggled the last few years following the dissolution of its original publisher’s publishing outfit? Well, it’s actually had a bit of movement this year, with an Xbox launch at the beginning of 2025. But that was followed by more layoffs this past summer, which arrived even as the devs said they were getting close to mod support.

Turns out that’s really happening now as mod support has entered beta.

Wayfinder now supports player-made mods through Mod.io!” the team announced yesterday. “Download the special branch “mods_beta” which will grant you access to browsing and managing mods from the main menu in Wayfinder. Get new mounts, restructure Lost Zones, create new experiences and share them with community.” There’s also a mod editor on the Epic Game Store. Yeah, it’s all a little strung out across multiple platforms, unfortunately, but hey, it’s here and it works.

A few of the devs have already uploaded some mods to show how it all works, including a zone mod, new mounts, and a friendly fire mod (oh no).

MOP’s Chris dropped by the game for a stream just last month:
