Hearthstone devs admit that they ‘fell short’ of their ‘goal of introducing enough

It doesn’t appear that many people are happy with Hearthstone’s recent Day of Rebirth mini-set — including Blizzard itself.

Tucked into this week’s patch notes, the studio confessed that it didn’t do a good job of maintaining and addressing card balance with the most recent expansion. “We fell short of our goal of introducing enough new competitive options this expansion. As we look ahead to the next expansion and beyond, we’re keeping your response to this set in mind and are using it to help shape the future of Hearthstone,” the developers wrote.

The devs said that it wants to use future card sets to bring balance back to the Force, er, card game rather than start swinging a giant nerf and buff bat around. They noted that “the data shows a relatively balanced meta” for the time being.
