While the developing Sailing skill in Old School RuneScape is obviously about, well, sailing the ocean, it’s also promising to bring a bunch of other activities as well, and one of the newest ones that’s part of Jagex’s latest dev blog is about things for the Slayer skill line. This will obviously involve slaying things, but it’s the new things being slain that’s the focus.
Specifically, engaging in Sailing will let players hunt down several new monsters, including the all-new gryphon monster, which comes in three flavors of angry as well as a boss version; the four-legged angler fish-faced aquanites; the sandworm-like lava strykewyrms, and a full-on frost dragon.
Naturally taking down these foes will grant players unique rewards, such as a stat-boosting Horn of Plenty, an offhand Aquanite Hopper item that improves crossbow use, a new sword, and some unique materials, as well as some new pets that will be unique to Sailing. As usual, Jagex has several polls for players to complete to determine whether it’s thinking in the right directions with these additions, so players might want to read through and provide their input.
In other OSRS news, the MMORPG’s upcoming Grid Master community event will arrive on October 13th, which means that Jagex has decided to share an information-filled video about the affair for those who didn’t feel like reading the earlier dev blog. That video and a video about Sailing’s new monsters both await below.
