Oh CCCP, you're so horrible.

CCP Games is a studio known for daring and often backfiring experiments, but its next project might be one of its craziest yet. Tesla CEO Elon Musk name-dropped EVE Online on Twitter recently, saying, “Had a good conversation with the makers of EVE Online. We discussed the possibility of collaborating on an AI game. Something that only AI could do.”

Play EVE Online for freeAs we all digest whatever the heck that might mean (and take heart at how quick EVE gamers were to roast the idea and CCP’s leadership for entertaining it), the actual human-built MMORPG EVE Online went ahead and pushed out a big update for its Legion expansion cycle. “This update introduces significant changes to deepen fleet warfare, expands freelance jobs, and more, all shaped directly by feedback from Capsuleers,” the studio said.

Next up for EVE fans is the “first-ever EVE Universe world event,” called Operation Nemesis. This event begins on September 16th and runs through October 2nd, binding together EVE Online and EVE Vanguard, “strengthening the connection of ground-to-space play between the two games.” This is part of an initiative that CCP calls “EVE Forever.”
