It’s been some time since we got any major news out of Nexon’s PvPvE extraction shooter ARC Raiders beyond its confirmed launch on October 30th and an apology by developer Embark Studios for counting down to a video debut. But now that we’re inching closer to the month of October, Embark is unsurprisingly ready to make some new noise and has invited gamers to kicking off a “server slam” open test between Friday, October 17th, and Sunday, October 19th.
As the test’s name indicates, this will basically be a stress test to shake down the game’s servers ahead of launch, and as such it will be fully open and available for everyone on all platforms, including Xbox X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam and EGS. There won’t be any codes required, but access will roll out slowly on the first day.
In terms of what this test will offer, it promises “elements of progression and crafting while completing a set of quests to provide you with a little taste of the ARC Raiders experience” on the Dam Battleground map. Progression will not carry over between the test and launch, but those who participate will be getting a unique backpack cosmetic.
More information on the test is promised in the shooter’s official Discord and on its social media channels to help eager gamers come on and slam and welcome them to the jam. In the meantime, a trailer heralding the test, as well as the start of pre-orders for the game, waits below.
