Welcome back to Make My MMO, MOP’s long-running column where we keep track of crowdfunded MMOs, both brand-new titles just starting their campaigns and older games long past their fundraising.
It’s been a couple of interesting weeks in the crowdfunding sector. For starters, Ship of Heroes is launching this coming week, for real this time, and has already prompted bewilderment for its proposed pricing plan, which includes a $60 box fee and $15 a month after the first month, which is bundled in. Players have been voicing strenuous objections to the pricing over the last two days, but the devs don’t seem to be budging, suggesting that the pricing was designed to attract a specific playerbase.
Meanwhile, Camelot Unchained dropped a fresh video preview and a tentative goal of hitting early access by the end of the year after announcing the sunset of its spinoff game, Star Citizen studio CIG is already hedging on the Squadron 42 launch window, Ashes of Creation’s community is having a drama moment, Project Gorgon is eyeballing a launch, and MOP’s Eliot is disappointed in the way the Kickstarter movement kinda failed.
Read on for more on what’s been up with MMO crowdfunding over the last few weeks, plus our roundup of all the crowdfunded MMOs we’re following!

Yes, some crowdfunded MMOs most definitely do succeed. But others crash and burn, and you need to hear about the whole spectrum of games that sought your money early in exchange for the promise of input and transparency. And that’s exactly what Make My MMO does several times a month. Help us keep ’em accountable, would ya?
