Battle royale shooter Super People announces a return to early access after two years’ hiatus

It’s been quite a while since we reported on Super People, the battle royale shooter from Korean developer Wonder People and publisher Wonder Games, which we first caught notice of back in 2022 when it hit closed beta testing, then later that same year with an early access release. After that point, it continued getting patches until Wonder People apparently elected to reimagine itself a sequel, though it was more like a large “Revolution” update that the studio still tried to class as a sequel. Yet despite this major patch, the game ended early access in 2023 owing to an ever-decreasing player population.

Well, third time is the charm, as they say, and Wonder People is back to try it again: The “original” Super People is returning to early access this Thursday, September 18th. This re-launch of a re-launch promises “a revamped take on the battle royale experience based on player feedback” with weapon adjustments, character balancing, and more classes including the Ninja class; rapid updates to maintain that balance; revisited stability, matchmaking, and game economy; and additional anti-cheat layers with Wonder People’s own in-house tech and BattleEye.

Players who happened to have bought into the shooter when it first hit early access will still see their purchase honored and access restored as before, along with a cash shop currency stipend that totals 130% more than the purchase price, while new players will have to buy into early access but will receive cash shop currency that’s equal to the cost; pricing for the revived shooter was not provided. So if you’re among those who was missing “PUBG with superpowers,” it’s on its way back.
