Pocketpair’s smash hit survivalbox Palworld continues to be the company’s primary focus in a video address to fans, which outlined some general information about the rest of the game’s development this year, as well as its plans to get the title out of early access and into a 1.0 release sometime in 2026.
According to the studio’s communications director and publishing manager Bucky, the devs of Palworld will be heads down through the rest of 2025 in order to focus on cleaning up the title before it makes its full launch. “It’s no secret that Palworld has a lot of quirks and jank, and we want to take the time to properly address those before releasing the game,” he says. “Our goal is to release Palworld next year, in 2026, and we think taking the time to fix those problems will ultimately lead to a better game.”
Bucky does point out that the team will be mostly silent through the rest of the year, and the planned winter update will be smaller in comparison to others, but he also promises that development is ramping up instead of slowing down while also teasing some surprises for the winter update.
Coincidentally, the studio appears to be mostly quiet about its other survival sandbox Craftopia, which recently marked five years of early access; that means that Palworld will have been in early access development for just over a year, assuming the developers hit their targeted 2026 1.0 release.
The video closes with a few words about the company’s overall planned future, including some general details about its publishing arm and its focus on helping smaller devs out and confirmation that some smaller teams are concepting other ideas for Pocketpair’s next game. Information about everything coming from both the studio and Palworld is promised soon, but for now the video address awaits below.
