You could be forgiven for thinking that Fae Farm was done and over with after the implosion of Phoenix Labs and closure of Dauntless earlier this year, but the cozy farming co-op game has apparently gotten a new lease on life.
Game Cloud Network, Phatty Acid, Pure Wonder Interactive, and new publisher Gambit Digital have formed a collective that has acquired the game’s IP, existing development, and ongoing live service. The press release promises players that the title will have new announcements moving forward, implying that there will be further development and releases in the near future.
For those of you who don’t recall Fae Farm, it was one of the games made and released by Phoenix Labs, best known to MMO enthusiasts for their monster hunting title Dauntless. The studio’s closure earlier this year led to the sunset of that title and the assumed lack of any further development on Fae Farm until this new announcement. In fact, the game’s Steam page is filled with angry reviews as apparently the multiplayer and co-op features stopped functioning following a move earlier this summer that quietly removed the multiplayer tags from the game’s Steam page. Full multiplayer was apparently disabled on September 10th.

However, in the game’s Discord, devs and mods are suggesting that multiplayer is back (or coming back).
Here’s the exact verbiage of what the new group is up to.
“Fae Farm, the cozy farming adventure beloved by fans worldwide, has found a new home. On Monday, September 15, an experienced collective of video game leaders proudly announce their acquisition of the game, including the existing title and ongoing IP rights. This exciting partnership ensures that players can continue enjoying the game’s enchanting live services while opening new possibilities for the future of Azoria.
“The collective, composed of Gambit Digital, Game Cloud Network, Pure Wonder Interactive, and Phatty Acid, brings together expertise and resources to enhance the player experience and drive innovative development of the Fae Farm franchise. The group will work together to nurture long-term growth, with Gambit Digital serving as the publisher of record for Fae Farm moving forward.
“Originally developed and published by Phoenix Labs and launched in September 2023, Fae Farm quickly cultivated a thriving community with more than 500,000 players across all platforms. The new ownership team is thrilled to collaborate closely with this passionate community, ensuring the enchanting online experience continues to flourish. Players can look forward to exciting future announcements that will add even more magic to their Azoria adventure.”
It’s currently unclear exactly what further developments will occur moving forward, but someone taking ownership here is better than nothing.
