If this week’s felt a bit rougher in Standing Stone Games’ MMOs, it’s not just you. Both Lord of the Rings Online and Dungeons and Dragons Online has seen a spike in lag and login issues that brought out a response from the devs who say — as usual — that they’re working on it.
Play LOTRO for freeSSG reported that login issues were preventing LOTRO and DDO players to get into their respective games yesterday. Fortunately, those issues were resolved by the evening.
As for the greater problem of lag, latency, and rubberbanding in both MMOs, the studio acknowledged that it’s a “top priority” and that further fixes are in the works. For DDO, the devs said that “we are currently working on our next game update and the performance work that will be in it.” There’s also effort being poured into finishing some sticky transfers.
And over in LOTRO, a performance hotfix should arrive this week. “We already have avenues to pursue and are either doing that work or getting ready to do that work, so hopefully we’ll see improvement in upcoming game updates. We do appreciate your frustration over game performance, and we are working as quickly as we can to improve the environment,” the devs said on the forums.
