Worlds Adrift fans, it’s time to come home: Bossa’s Worlds Adrift-inspired co-op sandbox Lost Skies has officially left early access and swooped into launch as of today.
“Take to the clouds today with the launch of Lost Skies 1.0!” the studio says. “The hard work of the Bossa Games team is here to bring together explorers in a co-op survival title where creativity reigns supreme. Lost Skies comes to you on Steam with a promise of action, adventure, and plenty of mysteries for you to uncover.”
“In Lost Skies, build, customize, upgrade, and pilot your own skyship on a journey through a fractured world. What did the ancient civilization that once inhabited these lands leave behind? Group up with friends for a sky battle with colossal bosses, complete mind-bending puzzles, and travel between the floating islands, in this survival crafting adventure set within the clouds.”
Readers will remember that Lost Skies sailed into early access back in April, so it hasn’t been that long a run. We’ve also noted that concurrency for the game hasn’t been overwhelming, which isn’t too surprised since it was a B2P early access game and still does not have dedicated servers in place, nor will it today. In fact, the team bluntly told players that “[p]ost Day 30, the development of major new content is dependent on the commercial success of the full release and its public reception.”
That said, MOP’s Chris played Lost Skies in-depth for a month this past June and enjoyed the heck out of it, mostly just concluding that it needs more time and love. Which is probably true of most games in early access.
