Today’s Throne & Liberty housing update, Solisium’s Awakening, is so big it should

Y’all, it’s happening: The biggest thing in Throne and Liberty since last year’s launch is rolling out today. It’s called Solisium’s Awakening, and it is an absolutely massive patch that just so happens to include player housing.

“The Housing system, a lifestyle content feature, has been added – allowing you to acquire and manage your own personal space in the world,” Amazon says. “Gather materials needed for furniture crafting and fill your space with hard-earned decor. Increase your House Rating to unlock additional housing locales and achievement rewards.”

Players can own up to four houses in a total of 24 locations in Kastleton and Vienta; just complete the Home Sweet Home quest to get underway. Furniture items are also placeable as decor and crafted through the new crafting skill with new mats found in the world through the new gathering skills: logging, mining, fur gathering, and foraging. See, housing is not just a pretty face. These are integrated features!

Also of note in today’s rollout:

  • Orbs enter the game as a new weapon type that allows players to summon spheres for protecting and debuffing.
  • Hyperboost is enabled on all servers starting today; it’s a boost not for leveling but for rewards, meant to help players age up into new content faster.
  • New servers open up today, also with hyperboost buffs, so you can start fresh if you wanna.
  • Truly new and returning players will want to take advantage of the new Path of the Stars beginner’s guide and the Path of Ascension progression mission set.

Plus we’re getting T3 gear, newbie buffs, tweaks to the leveling log, life skill contracts, a trait overhaul, adjustments to the rune system, new ascended field bosses, two new dimensional trials and a revamp of existing trials, the new 24v24 PvP battleground, the new Conquest battleground mode, siege buffs, the new achievement system, weapon and movement changes… it just keeps going, and Amazon should really be calling this an expansion.

Servers were originally supposed to go offline at 1:30 a.m. EDT this morning, but then the team moved it to earlier – 9 p.m. EDT last night – presumably to give it even more time. Either way, they are not expected back before 10 a.m. EDT, but the team didn’t give a hard ETA, so stay tuned.
